Re-Designed: FutureMag

What I tweaked on this one were the colors, meaning I made everything grayscale. This is something that I do by default, since I know from graphic design experience that colors will clash with colored photos. If you have a layout in which you use only black and white images - then, by all means, knock yourself out and use all the colors in the world. However, if your imagery is colored, just leave the colors in the visual material to speak out and not be overpowered by other colored design elements, especially typography.

And speaking of typography, I left the fonts that the original creator had used in place, but I made a lot of the titles uppercase, again this is something that comes out of experience: Small amounts of text, which is usually what titles and tags in a website are, work better in uppercase since the uppercase gives a good top line as well as a baseline.

This is actually a really nice magazine blog that has a lot of featured widgets and also a ticker at the top which is subtle enough to not be too distracting. And everything else is also pretty much as I found it.
