Re-Designed: Quotes

June 23, 2022
If it weren't for one tiny thorn in my side I would hail the merits of this theme from the rooftops. That tiny thorn is that fat little quotation mark (which is actually a fontawesome unicode) that I have not been able to replace no matter what I did. That said, this is a wonderful masonry grid theme that does that very rare thing - it allo…

Re-Designed: Pebbles

June 14, 2022
I am usually confident that what I have tweaked will work with no problems, and I put it on this site with that assurance. This is not due to my competence but rather it is due to the skill of the original template creator who has put together something that works flawlessly, which I only tweak. Pebbles is not like that. I am still putting it he…

Re-Designed: Journey

May 18, 2022
Journey is the theme that got me onto this hobby of theme tweaking years ago when I felt that I absolutely had to use this theme for my personal blog but then there were so many problems that I felt had to be fixed. Re-Designed: Straight

May 15, 2022
Once the rather distracting background was replaced with a neutral gradient and the width of the masonry grid, as well as the post page were extended, this has turned out to be a very good theme to show design work and photographs. I made 2 versions of this, one has a menu on top and the other doesn't. This menu has to be configured from insid…

Re-Designed: Sprinx

April 06, 2022
Sprinx is a 2 column masonry blog whose main feature are the different colored post backgrounds on the home page. Quite a nice idea, except that the whole thing was lacking hierachy and structure because of some bad typographic desicions that the original craator had made: Wrong sizes, wrong font weights, and ultimately what I also consider to be…

Re-Designed: Trendy Sidebar

April 02, 2022
When you rollover the screnshots below you will see that this is one theme that I have really changed. For one thing, instead of having the content lean up to the left sidebar, I spread it across the entire surface. This is a responsive masonry theme and when you shrink the browser, things automatically realign themselves to fit. So, I see no reas…
