Re-Designed: The Expose theme

Here I had to do quite a bit of cleanup work on what is actually a very nice template. The issue is that you really cannot have any of the "recent post" widgets and so on, that the original author put on the layout tab since they scramble up the grid. I removed all of them from the layout panel, however this does not mean that you will not have to do it all over again. Unfortunately, once they have been used widgets have a very bad habit of making reappearances over and over again even if you delete them every time.

Another thing that I did not want were all the gradients, it seems to me that a theme like this which is already very ambitious in its layout, will benefit from a more "flat" design approach. Then there were the usual typographic cleanup issues - too many fonts, too many colors. And then finally, I also made the whole thing quite a bit wider since it is a responsive design, so there is really no reason to have everything bunched up in the middle; it reconfigures itself at narrower widths very nicely anyway.

One drawback with this is that there is no way to not to show the huge top featured post on the actual post pages themselves, it is always there. The solution might be to create an image and a post that is sort of an intro to your overall site and then have that as the featured post. The way that my tweaked theme looks is below and when you rollover it you will see the original template.

Important! 3rd party responsive Blogger themes have a lot of quirks that you will have to fix which come about every time that you restore a theme. So, this is not something that I can resolve with my tweak, there are some things that you, the end user, has to take care of before the theme is fully operational. To find out what these are and how to fix them, please make sure you look at the Instructions Page > > > right after you install the theme.
