After you eliminate the bitmap logo from the header (I do wish theme creators would not do that, it is completely useless to anyone who wants to use the template), do quite a few typographic and color changes as well as delete some rather fussy details such as strange dotted areas around the widget titles, what comes out is a very lovely feed based theme with a featured posts slider on top. Especially nice is the drop cap initial on the post snippet on the main feed page, however for that to work you need to have a minimum word count.
