Re-Designed: ProMag

This is a very nice magazine theme with lots of different featured post boxes for different categories that are all styled differently, a thumbnail silder at the top, and another slider for the main featured posts. My job was the usual stuff: Deleting color details, changing fonts from a rather hefty slab serif to a sans font (Barlow) that has a lot of different weights, of which I made usage of, using a lot of lighter weights and bigger sizes too. Another thing was to elimante all the muddy overlays from the images. In order to make the text that is placed on them visible (which is the reason that creators resort to this rather appalling habit of putting a gray overlay on the entire image) I added semi transparent backgrounds olny behind the titles. And then finally, I made the whole layout quite a bit wider. Since this theme has a lot of different details on what is a pretty log homepage I am showing the "before" and "after" with videos below.

Important! 3rd party responsive Blogger themes have a lot of quirks that you will have to fix which come about every time that you restore a theme.
